If you are a fan of off-road vehicles and old timers, then you cannot miss 2017 Jeep Wrangler. This vehicle is not an old timer in a classical way, but it takes after military vehicles used in WW2. Wrangler is the most popular car of its kind but, to tell you the truth competence in this category isn’t so tough. There are no many car manufacturers which produce similar vehicles. However, this car is ideal for rough terrains and summer rides. It is coming in two different trim levels, regular Wrangler and Unlimited, which come in three core trims Sahara, Sport, and Rubicon.
Fuel Economy
The biggest problem with the previous model was fuel consumption, and it seems that almost nothing has changed. The 2017 Jeep Wrangler uses a lot of fuel for its size, and it keeps getting complaints every year. The previous model can reach 17 mpg and 21 mpg, on the highway and in a city respectively. The new model has the same figures as its predecessor while the Unlimited has slightly different figures. We can just hope engineers will lend an ear to their customers in the future and create a car with enhanced fuel efficiency.
2017 Jeep Wrangler Performance
According to several sources, a 3.6-liter six-cylinder diesel engine should be placed under the hood of the new Wrangler. The 2016 model used a 3.6l Pentastar gasoline, so the change is quite significant. Despite the new unit, they failed in decreasing fuel consumption. On the other hand, there are no complaints about power since it can deliver 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This is enough for the majority of customers, and you can be sure it won’t let you down even on the toughest tracks. Its predecessor was paired with 6-speed manual gearbox and AWD, and so did this model.
One of the things which have been improved is the acceleration. I bet you didn’t expect that the 2017 Jeep Wrangler could go 0-60 mph in under 7 seconds (6.6s to be accurate). Acceleration is great and towing capacity as well. It is estimated that Unlimited has a towing capacity of 3,500lbs which is 1,500lbs more than before. We’re happy to see new unit under the hood. Even though it didn’t contribute much to fuel economy, we’ve got a faster car.
Exterior
As you see in these pictures, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler is not much different than the 2016 model. It is not different at all. There are some minor changes and refreshments, but it is hard to tell the difference between these two models.
Lighter materials are used, and we hope future models will be even lighter and have better fuel economy. The engineers opted for aluminum since there are some good examples of off-road vehicles which use this material. Their goal is to reduce the weight for 700lbs, and we hope they’ll reach their goal soon. New Wrangler comes with great suspension thus it easy to ride it on almost all surfaces.
Interior
When it comes to the interior, there is no much accurate information. It should have a unique cabin as before. There are plenty of handy features. Seats are height-adjustable and wrapped in leather. There’ll also be a sound system which consists of eight speakers, air-conditioning, telescopic steering wheel, etc. Equipment should depend on the trim level, thus, some models can come with black-colored seats, 17-inch wheelbase, and Alpine sound system.
2017 Jeep Wrangler Price and Release Date
2017 Jeep Wrangler should be available for sale at the beginning of 2017. Perhaps it’ll be presented at 2017 Geneva Car Show. Different trim levels will have a different price. The price of the base model won’t exceed $23,500 while the Unlimited Rubicon is going to cost around $41,695. All in all, for this amount of money you’ll get a unique and reliable off-road vehicle.
