Powertrain and Trims

2017 Honda CR-V is coming in five different trim levels: EX, EX-L, SE, base LX and Touring. Regardless of the trim engine lineup should be the same. It seems that all trims are going have three different options. Rumors tell that a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a turbocharger, which debuted last year, is going to be the base unit for new CR-V. It was used under the hood of 2016 Honda Civic and it hasn’t got any complaints so far. This unit comes with an output of 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Although this engine is less powerful, it offers a calm and easy ride.

On the other side, the new model is also going to have a 2.4-liter four cylinder with 185 HP and 181 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the third unit which completes the lineup for 2017 model is a 2.0l four-cylinder 158 HP and 138 lb-ft of torque. Both AWD and FWD are available for all trims. As you can see by yourself these engines are far from being the most powerful in this field of the market. However, Honda’s goal here is not to produce the strongest SUV but the one with great fuel efficiency. Exact EPA ratings haven’t been published yet but it’s assumed 2017 Honda CR-V will beat previous ratings of 25/31/27 mpg for FWD and 26/33/29 for AWD.

Exterior and Interior Changes

This year focus in on the interior. Features differ from trim to trim but all models should come with a driver seat which is height-adjustable. There will be also folding rear seats, climate control, and cruise control. Technology is tremendous since 2017 Honda CR-V installed the latest tech gadgets. Both phone and Bluetooth connections are part of the standard equipment and can be found in all trim levels. In addition, there’re smartphone app integration, automatic headlights, and blind-spot camera. The USB port is not a new feature as well as a keyless entry and ignition. LED daytime running lights are now part of every car made in Honda factories.
