If you check the list of the most searched concepts on Google, you will see that C-HR is among the top. It has been the most anticipated concept coming from this Japanese automaker. This concept was originally introduced two years ago at the Paris Auto Show while a crossover was presented at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It seems that Toyota finally decided to release this model and it will be probably named 2018 Toyota C-HR. We already have some pictures of this model and got some info about it thus we decided to finally write an article about it.
2018 Toyota C-HR Review and Release Date
2018 Toyota C-HR is a subcompact crossover with futuristic design. Toyota put a lot of effort in designing exterior, but the interior wasn’t neglected as well. C-HR is definitely going to change some things on the market once it is released. Many things are uncertain regarding this model, such as name and release.
This name is not definite and there are no clear indications when it will hit the market. The best predictions tell us that it should be available in spring 2017, but these are only predictions, not official statements. However, spring 2017 seems quite reasonable and achievable for Toyota and we can expect to see it on the streets in less than a year.

Powertrain
There are going to be few different variants of the engine. However, you will not have a possibility to choose between these two. One unit will be offered to the European customers, while the second one is going to be found on the American market. A 1.2l turbo petrol unit with an output of 116 hp is going to be a European variant. It will be coupled with either six-speed manual transmission or CVT. American customers must be satisfied with only one engine – a 2.0l unit.
There are no reliable details about this powertrain, but one thing we know for sure is that it will be mated to CVT. Both types come with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. In addition, a hybrid variant is going to be offered. This means engine lineup consists of three different units. A 1.8l petrol engine is combined with an electric motor in order to deliver 122 hp. A hybrid is not a surprise since this is model manufactured by Toyota. It should come with a CVT transmission, without the automatic option. All in all, engine lineup looks quite decent and we don’t expect any trouble here.
Interior and Exterior Review
The best part of the 2018 Toyota C-HR is its design. It simply looks astonishing! There are many innovative and modern features, such as boomerang-shaped taillights and round wheel wells. The strangest thing is that there is no grille, well at least a regular one. Headlights are very narrow and reportedly they are equipped with Xenon technology. LED daytime running lights are also there and rear part of the roof is slightly lowered than the front part.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide reliable details of the cabin. Toyota is still keeping this info off the record, but we expect to see a luxurious styling. At this point, we can tell whether it is going to accommodate four or five people. However, the cabin will definitely be convenient and equipped with top-notch technology. It will be equipped with numerous features: Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, audio integration, etc. Safety hasn’t been neglected. A rearview camera is part of the safety equipment as well as parking sensors. In addition, there are plenty of airbags all over the cabin.
2018 Toyota C-HR Price
Toyota didn’t comment the price of the 2018 Toyota C-HR, but we have some figures in mind. In our assumption, it should have a similar price as RAV4 and Qashqai which means it won’t exceed $23,545. Time will tell whether we are right or wrong.
